OVERVIEW

The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) qualification equips you with the skills to work with individuals in the community, home or residential care setting as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

  • Able to commit to study and complete the compulsory work placement component
  • Attend MTC campus for a pre-enrolment appointment to complete the enrolment documents and LLN
  • Hold or able to obtain the following clearances:
    – National Police Clearance (NPC)
    – NDIS Worker Check
  • Evidence of flu vaccination may be required

SUPPLEMENTARY SUBJECTS

This 16-week program provides additional training delivered through our industry partners Australian Food Training Centre and Allied Therapy Aus to support our graduates to be competent and effective support workers. ​

This course focuses on teaching proper techniques for lifting, transferring, and assisting clients in a safe and efficient manner, essential for support workers to prevent injury to both themselves and those they assist
This qualification helps support workers develop the necessary skills to manage food safety practices, a key part of working in environments where food preparation is part of the job, such as group homes or care facilities.

Certificate of Attendance issued
This training would focus on effective communication and engagement techniques with clients, especially those who may have complex needs. It aims to help workers build stronger, more positive relationships with clients through engagement.

    Study Requirements
    Our programs contain an eLearning component which requires students to log into our Learning Portal through a browser. Students must have a base understanding of how to operate their chosen device, as confirmed through the pre-enrolment process.

    In order to undertake study with My Training Centre, students are required to have:

    • Wi-Fi/internet access
    • Access to emails
    • Laptop, computer, or tablet (preferable with a keyboard)

    Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer
    My Training Centre has a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) process in place.

    Prospective students are informed of the RPL and Credit Transfer Policy prior to enrolment in the course and through a variety of means, including pre-enrolment interview, enrolment form, student handbook, and website.

      Payment Plans are available and negotiated during the pre-enrolment appointment.

      A deposit of $250.00 is required, and a regular installment weekly, fortnightly or monthly through our debit partner, Ezypay.
